Hi and season’s greetings to you all. It’s good to be off work again for a couple of weeks and I’m looking forward to catching up with family and friends and becoming vaguely human again!

It’s been a productive year for me musically and I’m hoping 2014 brings much of the same. Well, you make your own fortune don’t you, so I’ve actually made a resolution to make 2014 a productive and creative year.

There’s a lot to look forward to and a lot to look back on. 2013 has seen the flourishing of so many independent musician friends, it’s been a joy to watch/listen-to. The Fierce And The Dead recently released a cracking new album. The aural conjoined twins, Jumble Hole Clough and Milk Churn Joan both released incredibly varied and enjoyable albums and EPs also. Snippet‘s ‘DIY‘ album made the summer swing with it’s bittersweet pop-soul and Steve Kelly (as Douglas Deep, Macerator and Manfred Hamil) released a cheeky compilation entitled The Shed Collectivewhich showcased his excellent varied and lively output. In addition to this, Lawrence Made Me Cry released ‘The Diary Of Me‘ to much acclaim and only went and got herself shortlisted for the Welsh Music Prize! She also gave me the opportunity to play live for the first time in (mumbles) “mmimissr….” years; which was rather fun. In 2013, I myself released two albums, both of which I’m rather proud of and, it appears, other people like them too.

Looking ahead, I’m just putting the finishing touches to my next album, ‘VTOL’. It contains a few collaborations with some of the aforementioned artists and others. Here’s a little preview…though the excerpts of the tracks on the mix are only impressions, to give you a flavour…..well, there’d be no sense of mystery or discovery otherwise!

The album will be released on 15th Feb at free/pwyw.

Anyway…time to go. Thanks for your support; for reading, listening and sharing. Have a wonderful festive season and I’ll see you on the other side.
